Musical Anticipations.
The countdown at Bolton has begun: my last day is the 22nd. I got a new job at the Tate Center (thanks to some very good timing) so now I can study and earn money at the same time. It doesn't pay as much as Bolton at first, but my new boss David told me there is potential for raises, and I don't mind working a lot more since work will no longer take up study time. Or potential study time, anyway. Hell, I can even knit while I'm at work, so I'm very happy for the job change.

I've been feeling the musician's itch lately; my songwriting has slowed down much more than I would like. I downloaded a multitrack recording demo the other day and put together a nice acoustic version of "Fall" that included harmony, but due to a misunderstanding of the program's abilities, I ended up deleting the whole thing by accident. I haven't had the privacy since then to record anything else, but hopefully I will soon. I've got a new song in the woodworks too.

Speaking of music, there's a lot of music news going on. First of all, Silverchair's new album is going to be released very soon; they're even playing a concert in New York. I'm very excited, but I'm also wary of how it might sound. I'm afraid it may sound too much like the Dissociatives, which isn't bad, but not Silverchair. We'll see.

Blackfield and Porcupine Tree are both releasing new albums soon as well and are going to be touring around March through the summer. It looks like Blackfield have posted all of their US tourdates, and they're not going anywhere near the southeast, which disappoints me a lot. I was really looking forward to seeing them in concert and getting a chance to meet Aviv. Porcupine Tree haven't posted all of their US dates yet, so there's still a chance that they're coming back to Altanta.

Tomorrow's Martin Luther King Day, so no class, but I still have work. I'm not looking forward to it, but at least it's one step closer to my last day.

Je t'ai croisée
Un samedi soir
Et j'ai jeté sur ta silhouette
Une poignée d'épices colorées
Mon but était clair
