If Germany and France both make it to the finals, I don't know what I'll do; I honestly don't know who I'd cheer for. France played an amazing game, and I'm confidant they'll be a formidable team for Portugal this Wednesday. Zidane was awesome, and I'm really happy that his team's getting so far for his last World Cup. Henry's goal was poetry in motion.
As for England? I think it was inevitable. They've been half-assed in their technique for most of this World Cup, and it was going to catch up with them sooner or later. Portugal played a great game, and they deserved the win. Rooney really didn't have to dig his cleats into that guy's groin; if he hadn't had done that, the game could've been different. He deserved that red card and more, I think. That was just as bad as De Rossi taking a chunk out of McBride's face with his elbow.
Mad props to France--I danced around the house when they won. I just hope I'll be able to catch the Germany v. Italy game on Tuesday. Eric and I will be heading back to Columbus from the beach that day. I just hope we'll leave early enough so I can catch it. That is definitely a must-see.
Vive la France!
