Oh. There You Are.
Oh, dammit. After one simple ten-minute phone call I'm officially in the hole.

Remember my laptop that I sent off to get fixed? Sony sent it back to my parents house unfixed saying that the warranty didn't cover "negligence." So. They won't fix it under the warranty. Said the motherboard was fried. So. How much will it cost to get it fixed?

Six. Hundred. Dollars.

Six-hundred. Six-hundred! I about lost my mind when Mom told me. To make things worse, if I don't get it fixed by Sony, my warranty will be void, so I'll lose it completely. I feel so lost right now; I have absolutely no money since the holidays and I don't officially start working until Monday.

So, I've come up with a plan. I really don't like it, but I have to do it. If I want to make at least $100 a week, I need to work 16 hours a week. I'm putting my rebate check toward the laptop so I'll have a good jumpstart and I'm going in to work tomorrow from 11:15 to 6:15. I'll probably work the same hours on Monday and tack an extra hour on my time on Wednesday. Of course, I'll go back in on Friday for another seven hours. I'm not looking forward to it, but if I want to make $600 before the semester ends, that's what I have to do.

What makes it worse is that I have other things to spend money on as well. I've got to buy toiletries that are used up, the rest of my schoolbooks, and that damned book key for French (an extra $40 in order to access my homework and labwork). I can't put every dollar I make into my laptop repairs. It's going to be a very long semester, but it's what I have to do.

God, I feel sick.

Je t'ai croisée
Un samedi soir
Et j'ai jeté sur ta silhouette
Une poignée d'épices colorées
Mon but était clair
