897/900
mood: very satisfied
music: "It's Still Happening (featuring Hamilton Leithauser)" by Tweaker

My the Tweaker stuff I ordered a few weeks ago came in today! The CD was signed by both Chris Vrenna and Clint Walsh and numbered. The number on it was 897/900, which makes me wonder--did they only autograph 900 of these albums? If that's true, then I got damn lucky! I also got a Tweaker band shirt, which I am wearing right now.

The album is gorgeous; the music is so otherworldly and dark. All the singers Chris got to sing on the album are very good, although Robert Smith's pronunciation of some of the words in "Truth Is" gets a little annoying sometimes. The CD's almost like an industrial musical because the singers are so defined. I like how he ended it with "Crude Sunshine"; you can just feel what it's like to see the sun rising through the shades after not sleeping the whole night. Which is what the CD is about, if you haven't seen me mention it enough times. Insomnia.

I've finally gotten started with my summer reading, and I'm about 47 pages into "The Grapes of Wrath." Woo, only about 550 more pages to go. Fortunately, I can get a lot of reading done at work and at volunteer work, so it shouldn't be a problem. I'm actually taking notes on each chapter and answering the study questions as I go along. I want to start off my Senior year well and not screw up my first grade in some of my most important classes.

Ah, David Sylvan has such a velvety voice. Velvety like chocolate. Yum!

Je t'ai croisée
Un samedi soir
Et j'ai jeté sur ta silhouette
Une poignée d'épices colorées
Mon but était clair
